Flowers Gardens
My wife Mary loves gardening and you can see some photographs of her own gardens as well as trips we made to visit gardens to inspire her at her website, https://maryemccarthy.yolasite.com/. She hopes to start working on some new gardens at our new home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. We still own the Wilbraham property and my studio is located there.
Recovering
I had some surgery at Mass General Brigham on July 10, 2024 and I won't be able to book any sessions for now, but I'll extend the Christmas in July special through the rest of the summer. I hope I can start photographing again in August.
Wilbraham Cultural Commission Grant
I am happy to announce that I received a small grant from the Wilbraham Cultural Commission to subsidize my self project of photographing Wilbraham to record and preserve the way it looks in 2024. While I love photographing pets and horses I also like to do other kinds of work. I have lived in town for 28 years before taking up residence in Longmeadow and have watched it change, sometimes for the better, but at other times for the worse. I wish I had documented the way the town looked when we first moved here, but decided to make a formal project this year so that in the future I and others can look back at 2024 and remember the way we were. The project included a web site where I posted the photos. I had a print exhibit at the Wilbraham Library in January and will have an other exhibit at the Valley Photo Center gallery in the future. We just upgraded our medium format camera to a new Fuji GFX-50sII to give you even higher quality photographs that can be enlarged to any size. We also upgraded our studio lights to new battery powered ones that eliminates cords on the floor that your pet could trip on and they are very portable for location work too.
